I’ve been sitting with some tender, clarifying insights recently, and it feels right to share them with you.
Insights
Healing my self-abandonment patterns has been what's most present in my reflections. I experience self-abandonment as leaving my inner alignment or center within myself in an effort to gain or maintain a sense of belonging, connection, or love.
Many flashbacks have surfaced from personal and professional relationships, and even my relationship with Spirit, where I was carrying responsibility that wasn't mine while overlooking what was mine to hold and stay centered in.
I found myself wondering why my care, effort, and presence didn't feel enough to make the difference I hoped for.
It brings up tears of compassion for earlier versions of me who genuinely believed this was what I was 'supposed' to do to navigate life and relationships.
My self-commitment: I'm no longer willing to leave my inner alignment in an attempt to create false harmony. I choose to be where belonging, connection, love, and mutual self-responsibility are already present.
Here's a few cues I'm using to notice this pattern resurfacing and realign in real-time. Maybe you'll find them supportive too:
- If I notice myself straining in a situation, it's a cue to pause, recenter, and gather my thoughts before choosing my next step.
- If I'm in a relationship where I'm regularly the sole initiator of connection or resolution, it's an invitation to reflect on why I'm engaging where mutual self-responsibility is not present.
- If my focus shifts towards monitoring someone else or using their growth or presence to validate me, it often points to a sign of a co-dependent dynamic that first needs rebalancing within myself.
